A Message from Rev. Matt
Drunk in the Holy Ghost.God wants you to be HAPPY, you were created for JOY! Strange manifestations and Holy Ghost drunkenness is hardly a new thing to Christianity. The first time people became intoxicated, going into convulsions was not at Toronto, or Rodney's meetings, neither was it at Azusa Street. God's Spirit has been touching down on human flesh ever since the day of pentecost, and there are even Old Testament accounts of men being affected by God's Spirit in a strange-to-man way. In this article I'm going to give a brief run down of what Holy Ghost intoxication is for and why it's crucial for believers, so they'll be effective in carrying out Daddy's will. What it isIt's the Love of God! It's God being intimate with His kids! He will cause you to be totally out of control in His presence. This can be incredibly pleasurable or incredibly frightening if you have sin in your life, as the fear of God comes upon you. A lot of the time this drinking is initiated by you, by faith. He is more than able to satisfy your thirst. A lot of Christians aren't drunk because they don't don't drink. This is very profound! Drunkenness goes hand in hand with crazy miracles; If one doesn't take the time to be intimate with God and to learn the secrets of His heart, you'd better believe God isn't going to be very keen to give them any power. Especially those who willingly push God's presence away, for example, because it embarrasses them. 2 Corinthians 5:13 For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died (ESV) Why the church has tried to wipe it outThe majority of pastors today don't like anything that messes up the meeting, even worse something that causes them to loose total control of their meeting, their sheep and themselves. Worse, the presence of Holy Spirit causes people to leave the church! Especially as those people who are just looking for a church and a faith to add onto their lives start getting convicted of sin. None of this makes sense, this is all just mass hysteria, they say. They leave, hence the church income to goes down because it's usually the "thinkers" and wealthy businessmen that leave first. If the pastor has a controlling spirit they won't let any of this "craziness" happen. Or perhaps they have a spirit of the fear of man; they can't be seen twitching, shaking and hooting - it would damage their image. Or they love money; if people were to leave the church, their wage would go down, they'd have to fire staff etc. This is the babylonian system; the antichrist, Christ meaning the "anointing or the anointed one". Colossians 2:23 Do you think things that are here today and gone tomorrow are worth that kind of attention? Such things sound impressive if said in a deep enough voice. They even give the illusion of being pious and humble and ascetic. But they're just another way of showing off, making yourselves look important. (MESSAGE) What does He do through itHe makes you perfect; the appeal of sin dissolves in His presence. Such experiences of divine pleasure change your priorities to the point that you are become possessed by God. Anything and any thought outside of God becomes totally repulsive to you. You can't stand the thought of even remotely disappointing Him. You're in love; walking as Adam did in the garden, in divine perfection. God can now trust you with His power, because you don't think like a mere man any more, but as you have been transformed into His likeness, you think like Him now! 2 Corinthians 3:16-18 Whenever, though, they turn to face God as Moses did, God removes the veil and there they are—face-to-face! They suddenly recognize that God is a living, personal presence, not a piece of chiseled stone. And when God is personally present, a living Spirit, that old, constricting legislation is recognized as obsolete. We're free of it! All of us! Nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of his face. And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him. (MESSAGE) Where to from here?Drink, drink and drink some more, drink all you can possibly drink. Never sober up, you don't need to! Become so infused with the Wine of the God that you are a living testimony of His glory. The way the Word becomes flesh today is in your communion with God; Your intimacy with Christ will align your soul and your flesh to your Spirit, who is perfect from the day you were born again. |
